Global Recycled Standard

GRS (Global Recycled Standard) is a certification of the global recycled content standard.

GRS certification can be applied to all products containing 20% or more recycled content.

This standard applies to companies that describe the content of recycled raw materials in their final products.

GRS was mainly only applied to the clothing Industry. In recent years, it has been fully applied to rubber materials in different industries.

GRS and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) are similar in purpose. From the first recycler, sorter, cleaner, remanufacturer, producer to trader all need to hold GRS certification to ensure that the entire recycling can be traced.

GRS Objectives:

  • Verify recycled content in products
  • Give brands and consumers a means to make informed buying decisions
  • Reduce the harmful impact of production on people and the environment
  • Encourage a higher proportion of recycled content in products
