Sugar Cane Plastic Bag

Sugarcane is not only food and beverage, it can also be the raw material of a plastic bag. Sugarcane is one of the raw materials for ethanol production and green polyethylene. Compared with the energy consumption during the production process of green polyethylene and normal polyethylene, each ton of green polyethylene production process can reduce 2.3 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. 

Advantages of Polyethylene 

Compared with other ethanol production raw materials, such as beetroot and corn, sugarcane has the highest ethanol production. With every unit of biofuel input, sugarcane feed can generate 9.3 times as much bioenergy. In the future, using new technologies is expected to increase to twice of the existing capacity.  

The Braskem green polyethylene used by the revitalization is as same substitute as petrochemical plastics, but without starch. In this situation, the product does not need to make too many changes. Therefore, it can be launched to the market earlier. 

Benefits of sugar cane 

Compared with usual petrochemical polyethylene, green polyethylene will not release carbon dioxide, and absorb 2 – 2.5 KG of carbon dioxide. It is not only harmless to the environment, also help reduce the greenhouse effect and weather changes. 

Also, compared with traditional raw materials made from petroleum by-products, they not only have the same functionality and texture, but also protect the environment. Therefore, in recent year, sugarcane has become a popular renewable packaging material in Japan and other regions. Many governments have encouraged the use of sugarcane packaging as well.
